Actors want to get more auditions. Actors want to get noticed. Some want to get discovered Still others want to get an agent or meet that casting director or director or producer they have always wanted to meet. Actors want to act on their favorite programs or be in the movies. And some just plain and simple want to be famous stars who get to walk on the red carpet!

There is so much competition! So many people who want to be actors, especially young people between the ages of 18 and 28 years old.

People ask all the time “How can I get an agent, get more auditions and just really get my acting career started?“

Answer? “Eliminate as much of your competition as possible.

Here is the thing, you have to know that the vast majority of people who want to become actors are NOT willing to put in the hard work, pay money for anything that will help them, take classes, go to the trouble of finding out what they have to do to market themselves as an actor and do all the other things that are necessary to be successful.

They just want to be actors, which is very often something that they themselves do not really have a full understanding of. They only see actors act in movies and on television and think, “Oh, I can do that too!“

The fact that there are a lot of people like that is a big advantage for you! Here is a rule that applies to everything you do in life and yes, even to your acting career.

If you want to eliminate most of your competition, all you have to do is do more than they do, make sure you figure out how to make the money you need to fund your acting career, work harder on your craft than they do, make more sacrifices than they do and be willing to do all the things that they are not willing to do.

If you do that, you will find yourselves “in the game“ and “on the field“ as a “player“ in this industry while others are sitting in the stands watching and wishing they were on the field with you. Think about it.

When you do that, you put yourself in another category of people at a higher level, so that now, those people who were once your competition no longer are.
