PREMIER SCREENINGS FOR THE KENYANS FILMS MADE IN JUST 48HOURS.

November 26 / 2014

Filmmaking teams from throughout Nairobi successfully completed a weekend of filmmaking. Films were due on 23 November (Sunday) and the last few minutes before the deadline saw filmmakers, operating on little sleep and lots of adrenaline, rushing to get their films in on time. From 21st - 23rd of November nearly 300 filmmakers took up the 48 Hour Film Project Challenge and hit the streets of Nairobi to produce a film in only 48 hours. From TV & Film veterans filming on high end HD cameras & to High School students filming on an iPhone - 48HFP brought them all together for one cause. To make movies.

We've seen all the films and we're very happy to report that our filmmakers have impressed us.There's been an immense growth in the competition since it's inception in 2013.  They've improved in their storytelling skills and are quickly adapting to the 48HFP format pushing themselves to do more with their stories.

Lemon Slice Pictures is proud to present the Premier Screenings for The 48 Hour film Project Nairobi 2014. On the 3rd and 4th of December. ALL 19 films produced for the competition will premier to the open public at the newly refurbished Planet Media Cinemas - Prestige Plaza. Tickets are selling for 300 bob and for 2hours audiences will escape into a world of 'never before seen' Kenyan Stories. Financing. Many film makers don’t have cash to make films. And films require money. Personally I don’t want to do a nil-budget kinda.Compensating your “workers” is key to any business. Not many investors are willing to fund films. Even the govt fund was withdrawn for reasons only they can tell us. NO bank can give you money to make a film. They will tell you bring a log boo...

There is creation of wealth and opportunities in the film fraternity. The phrase passion and talent is just a portion of the overall input in film making. No passion pays bills. Even real estate is built passionately but the landlord will give you a visit every end month. Personally I made mistakes in my first project (film Wrong Number). And some were costly mistakes. And it’s on those mist...

PRODUCER OF "FLOPPED" FILM 'WRONG NUMBER' SHARES THE LESSONS LEARNT

Its months now since I launched my film “WRONG NUMBER” which I wrote and co-produced with Zeph Mwangi (Bubbly). Analysts, critics and fans alike hailed it as the biggest premier ever in Kenya and in the region even getting an 8/10 in launch logistics. Limos, Red carpet and even drinks. Premier of any product is crucial; it prepares the ground for the actual or main event and is also pu...
