CITIZEN TV NEWS ANCHOR JANET MBUGUA TO DEBUT IN STAR STUDDED SERIES RUSH

News anchor Janet Mbugua will be taking her cues from a different kind of script with her new role as Pendo Odama, in upcoming series, Rush. Set in Nairobi, the show is a documentary-stylesxd, reality-based sitcom following the fabulous and hectic lives of five cosmopolitan women.

Pendo is the owner and editor-in-chief at Rush Magazine. Her ambitions are to become a media mogul in the mould of Oprah. Beautiful and business savvy, her business and romantic pursuits are the main focus of the show.

Fellow lead actresses include former reality music show contestant, Wendy Kimani. She plays Ruby, a secretary at a women’s rights law firm. She loves shopping and nurses an ambition to be a rising star in the music industry.

Created by Lucy Chodotoa and Directed by Neil Schell, Rush stellar star studded cast boasts of Scolly Cheruiot, Maryanne Nungo,  Ian mbugua, Godfrey odhiambo, Avril Nyambura, Wendy Sankale, Claude Judah among others.

Rush hopes to tackle relevant and modern social issues like gender equality, sexuality, promiscuity, and femininity. Through additional lead characters Liz and Zoe, the show will depict the challenges of a pampered housewife worried about her husband’s infidelity and a talented photographer and fearless seductress; respectively.

The series shall interlink their challenges with lifestylesx topics such as fashion, healthy eating, music, traveling, celebration of life, friendships and giving back to the community.
