Say what you want to say about Brenda but she is clearly setting the pace for Kenyan actors especially when it comes to marketing oneself. She had kept her fans anxiously waiting for the 1st of February 2013 where she was to unveil a project she has been working on with the hashtag #BBB following her every post  on her facebook page. Some went crazy and thought #BBB stood for Brenda's Baby Boy as they speculated she was pregnant. Others thinking it was a reality show of her own she was starting.

True to her words,on the 1st of Feb 2013, Brenda revealed what she was working on and to many peoples suprise, it was the video below:

Sweet aint she? What you have just watched is called an Electronic Press Kit(EPK). Among many other tools that most kenyan actors fail to use like headshots and showreels, an EPK often referred to as a media kit in business environments, is a pre-packaged set of promotional materials of a person, company, or organization distributed to members of the media for promotional use. Its more or less like a showreel only diference is that, you have the artist, or in our case, the actor taking you through her lifes project from where she started to where she is right now.

Its the 1st EPK I have seen of a kenyan artist though widely used by american musicians. Biggest challenge ofcourse facing kenyan actors apart from the money used to make an EPK which is around ksh 60,000 is the fact that most of them dont have videos of their previous works and so a plea to producers is to make these easily and readily available for actors. Hey, we need to market our craft and promote your business as an actor. You being the product of your business.
