IDAH WANYOIKE AKA OLIVE OF MOTHER-IN-LAW: FROM THEATRE TO SCREEN

Born Idah Wanyoike on 9th April,Olive is one of the fastest rising actresses in the country. Olive had the chance to showcase her acting talent when she started taking part in alot of stage plays with Heartstrings Kenya and  the Friends Ensemble before landing the Olive role in one of the best Tv Programmes, Mother-in-law. She plays the role of a spoilt brat alongside Angie and Celina( Catherine Kamau).

She says she landed the Olive Role after a stage play by the name “There Goes The Bride” playing as Polly Parkins with the Friends Ensembles alongside fellow mother-in-law actor Andrew Muthure(Mustafa). There have been accusations that to land a role on Mother-in-Law you have to be related with one of the cast or producer, something Olive refutes saying that the only relation there is in the programme is with the characters and are not related in real life apart maybe from being collegues. As a matter of fact all the cast in the programme undergo through the auditioning process and are picked after they pass the requirements and that is how she got the Olive role.

Olive likes to swim, sing and travel a lot. She likes to spend her free time it with her family ,friends and her Fiance. She also hangs out alot with her fellow actors and actresses while they watch different serieses and movies together and work on their characters and acting skills.

She is thankful to all of the Mother-in-law crew and cast who have shown her much love and support as she settles into the family. "I never felt like an outside or Amateur on set despite it being my 1st screen play. I am grateful to be part and parcel of the programme where every individual is treated equally"
